William Keith Chase

May 29, 1958 — August 2, 2025

Newton

William “Bill” Keith Chase – 67 went home to be with Jesus on August 2, 2025.

He was the son of Robert Jean and Rubena (Reimer) Chase, born in Newton, Kansas on May 29, 1958. Bill had four sisters - three older and one younger.

His school years were in Newton through 9th grade, he then attended and graduated from Berean Academy. His college years were at Wichita State University and Kansas Newman, where he graduated with a degree in Business/Total Quality Management.

He married his high school sweetheart, Deborah Esau, on August 2, 1980. They were married exactly 45 years to the day. Bill and Deborah made their home in Newton and were blessed with three children.

Bill worked as a Security Officer/Captain for 43 years. He held jobs at St Francis Hospital, Cessna Aircraft, and Koch Industries. Bill retired in July 2023.

Bill enjoyed auctions, estate sales, trivia, games that required strategy, and witty humor. He had a gift for seeing the good side of situations and people. He would always say his greatest joy was coming home each day to his family.

Bill recognized his need for a savior and gave his life to Jesus on August 15, 1965. Bill’s faith in Jesus carried him through many seasons of life, and his desire was to live in a way that glorified God in the good times and hard times. His life’s testimony always pointed to Jesus and his legacy of faith continues on through his children and grandchildren.

Bill was surrounded by his loving wife and three children as Jesus gently carried him to heaven. He was a dearly loved husband, father, FaFa, son, brother, and friend. Bill is survived by his wife Deborah, children Elizabeth (Eric) Biggs, Christopher (Molly) Chase, Emilie (Phil) Graves, 12 grandchildren, sisters Roberta Schroeder, Jolene (David) Reed, and Carol (Troy) Hiebert. Bill was proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Rubena Chase and sister Debbie Martens.

Services will be held on Friday August 8, 2025, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery at 9:30 am followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:30 am at Newton Bible Church.

Bill was a long-time supporter of the Union Rescue Mission and Hope Women’s Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to these organizations in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
