Wayne G Leander

Wayne G. Leander 84, went home to be with the Lord December 22, 2023, just in time for Christmas.  He married Jane Fisher on August 24, 1991 and she preceded him death on February 15, 2012.

Wayne spent his working career as a accountant. He was a member of the Halstead Baptist Church in Halstead, Kansas joining in September 0f 2017. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in April 2014 and continued to deepen his faith though prayer and reading. He especially enjoyed reading his Our Daily Bread and Call to Glory magazines. Church was important to Wayne and he looked forward to his church time as his health allowed. John 6:37 "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." became a important Bible verse in his life.  

Wayne was a avid Chicago Cubs fan, he enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors and traveling with his wife in his earlier years.

He is survived by his sister Lorene Brynn

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with his close friend and Pastor Edward Blanchette presiding. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. A private interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery Newton, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to Halstead Baptist Church and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
