Virginia Pilcher passed away 12/15/2025 at age 88.
Virginia was born April 19, 1937 to Edward G. Bergstrom and Bessie Turrentine Bergstrom in Salina, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister. Survivors Include her husband Carl, three sons Alan, Michael, Kenneth, Four Granddaughters. Erin Lewis (Sean), Leah Pilcher, Anna Richter (Andrew), Charity Pilcher and three great grandsons.
She attended schools in Salina and graduated from Salina High School in 1955.
After high school, she graduated from Brown-Mackie business school. She worked at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita and Forbes Field in Topeka. She attended K-State for about two years then transferred to TWU of Denton, Texas where she graduated.
On June 5th, 1960, she married Carl Pilcher of Abilene, KS. They lived in Texas while Carl worked for Braniff Airways. They eventually moved to Wichita, Kansas. During this time, they had three sons: Alan, Michael, and Kenneth.
She took up the hobby of decorative painting. She eventually took up woodcarving and has won many awards with her woodcarvings.
Before and after retirement, Virginia and Carl loved to travel visiting most of the United States and Canada, as well as two trips to Europe.
