Theresa L. Toscano

Theresa L. Toscano, 58, died on March 20, 2022, at NMCHealth in Newton, Kansas.

She was born May 21, 1964, in New York, New York, the daughter of John Lally and Etta Mae Swarts.

On August 30, 1997, Theresa married Jose Manuel Lozano-Toscano.

During Theresa’s life she had many careers. In Newton she worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken, Newell Truck Plaza as a house keeper, and as a dispatcher for Wray Roofing. For several years she also worked as a C.N.A.. Whatever the job was, Theresa did it will and with pride.

A free and fun loving spirit, Theresa loved to travel and lived in many different places throughout her life. As she got older she became more of a homebody and began to enjoy the simplicity of sitting out on the deck in the mornings with a coffee in one hand and her phone in the other.

Theresa enjoyed the outdoors and nature and could often be found tending to her garden or with a fishing pole in hand awaiting a bite. She also enjoyed playing bingo, belting out her favorite songs at karaoke, or attending a concert.

Theresa loved her family and friends and many of her favorite past-times were spent in their company. Often Theresa showed others her love for them by lending a helping hand, something that was evident as she did what she could to help her mom, Etta.

Theresa was unforgettable, from her ability to make you laugh with her incredible sense of humor to how easily she showed kindness to others (even those who may not have been so kind), she was truly remarkable. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

There is survived by her husband, Jose Manuel Lozano-Toscano; sister, JoAnna Negrete; brother, Michael Lally; Nieces, Christi McClelland, Ashley Banserer, April Lally, Amber Cook, Erika, Lally and Angela Cebulski; Nephews, Alan Christopher Banserer, Storm Lally, and Jeffery Cebulski; 10 great-nieces and 8 great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Joseph Lally (1/3/2006); mother, Etta Mae Swarts (9/15/2019); and sister, Linda Mae Lally (2/3/2013).

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23^rd at Walton Cemetery in Walton, Kansas, with Pastor Amos McCarthy officiating. Following Theresa’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
