RuthAnn Hiebert, age 82, of North Newton, Kansas, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at Kidron Bethel Nursing Home.

RuthAnn was born on October 7, 1942, in Newport, Washington, the beloved daughter of Henry and Ruth Hiebert. She spent her childhood in Newport, where she attended Newport Grade School and graduated from Newport High School with the Class of 1960.

Her love of learning led her to Bethel College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. She later pursued a Master’s degree in education from Wichita State University.

RuthAnn enjoyed a wide range of interests. She loved to sing and play the autoharp. She was also a skilled woodworker, a passionate traveler, and took great pride in her role as a campaign manager.

She is survived by her brother, David Hiebert, and her sister, Eva (Hiebert) Klink. RuthAnn was preceded in death by her siblings, Henry Hiebert Jr., Linda (Hiebert) Sekiguchi, Elsie (Hiebert) Dickerson, and Erna (Hiebert) Haskins.

RuthAnn will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and unique way of looking at life. Her legacy lives on in the many people she influenced through her teaching, her many travels, her music, and her steadfast commitment to her friends and family.

Service will be Friday August 8th at 11:00 am at Bethel College Mennonite Church.
