Rita Ann Gronau

Rita Gronau, 77, passed away December 12, 2025, in Newton, Kansas. She was born on June 29, 1948, in Newton, Kansas, where she spent her entire life rooted in the community that she loved.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Gronau and Agnes Endres Gronau; her sister, Susan Gronau; her brothers Robert Gronau and James Gronau; and brother-in-law Jim Senn. She is survived by her sister, Jeanie Senn.

She lived her life in rural Newton and was known for her strong work ethic and reliability. She formed many lifelong friendships with all those that she had worked with at various businesses across the county.

Rita’s greatest joy was her role of aunt and great-aunt to her family. She cherished every moment spent with them and took great pleasure in spoiling them. Family gatherings, laughter, and time together were what truly filled her heart.

The deep relationships and friendships that she made with all her caregivers were genuine and meaningful to her. Her family is forever grateful to all of those that cared for her as much as she cared for them.

The service will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 10 AM January 2nd, with the rosary at 9:30 AM preceding the service. A graveside service following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CASA, A Voice for Children, Inc. in Newton.
