Richard Dean Fields 67, died September 23, 2026 at St. Francis hospital in Wichita,  He was born August 24, 1959 in Newton, Kansas to Robert L. and Vickie D. (Vogt) Fields. 

He served in the United States Marines and was honorable discharged.  He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Newton.

Richard is survived by his mother Vickie Fields, son Travis Fields and daughter Brandi (Justin) Hankins; she is also survived by 3 sisters Terri (James) Sadowski; Natalie (Kevin) Boston; and Debbie (Ray) Bergquist. Two grandchildren Rileigh Hankins and Landon Hankins.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at St. Mary Catholic Church with The Rev. Andrew Bergkamp, Celebrant. Recitation of the Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. prior to Mass at the church. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2026 at Petersen Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
