Rhonda Chavez-Tellez

Rhonda Erin Chavez-Tellez, age 59, passed away on November 4, 2025, in her hometown of Newton, Kansas.

Rhonda was born on January 26, 1966, to Norman and Doris Walker. She was affectionately known as Rhonda-Honda by those who loved her. She dedicated her life to caring for others and was known for her contagious laugh.

Rhonda spent many years working as a dietary aide in local nursing homes, where her commitment to the well-being of residents left a lasting impression on everyone who met her. Her work reflected her concern for others and her desire to make a positive difference in the world.

Rhonda will be remembered with love by family, friends, residents, and nurses, who were all touched by her warm, genuine personality.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Hospice or Paramount Community Living and Rehab and may be left in the care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main, Newton, Kansas.
