Randy Robert Stassen, 53, of Newton, Kansas, formerly of Marshall, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Randy was born on September 11,1972 in Marshall, Minnesota to Eugene and Margaret (Laleman) Stassen.

Randy attended and graduated from Marshall High School, and then attended Albert Lea Vo-Tech for diesel mechanic. Randy worked for Floyd Wild Trucking for 18 years, Kustom Karriers, and then at Builders Concrete until October 2025, when health issues forced him to take a leave of absence. Randy was a very capable and knowledgeable mechanic.

Prior to his health issues, he enjoyed riding his Harley bike, fishing, and hunting. He was also known for his love of grilling. He loved his family and gave the best hugs. Randy is survived by his 5 sisters: LuAnn (Kevin) Feser, Linda (John) Nuese, Janet (Tim) Sumerfelt, Nancy (Tom) Rasmussen, and Connie (Jerry) Martin; and his 3 brothers: Bob (Tamara) Stassen, Gary (Michelle) Stassen, and Denny (Laurie) Stassen; along with many nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on April 10, 2026 at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas. A visitation will also be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall, Minnesota, followed by a prayer service. There will be a private family burial in St Eloi Catholic Cemetery in Ghent, Minnesota. We will miss you greatly Randy.
