A much-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, daughter, and friend Pamela Kay Fields, 78, of Newton, Kansas, passed away suddenly at her home June 21, 2025. She was born February 23, 1947 in Hutchinson, Kansas and resided in Newton, Kansas for most of her life.

Pam was active in her youth. She spent time with family and friends, which included riding her motorcycle. Pam attended Newton High School. She was a compassionate caregiver throughout her life. Pam was dedicated to providing for and raising her children with so much love. This led her to work various jobs. She was a long time employee of U.S.D. 373 where she worked as a custodian at Santa Fe Middle School and on the lawn crew in the hot Kansas summers. Pam retired from the school district in 2013. She also worked at the Coffee Pot restaurant off and on for over two decades. In 2016, Pam’s mother moved in with her. Pam took care of her until her mother passed away in May 2025.

Pam loved spending time with family and friends. She traveled to visit her children and grandchildren as much as possible. Pam was an amazing cook. She made bierocks and “specials” when her children came home for visits and peppernuts annually to send to her children and grandchildren. She was the go-to-person for a recipe. Pam was an avid card player. She frequently won at cards and was a good sport to all levels of players. Pam was passionate about crafting and sent handmade cards to each of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild for each of their birthdays. She was witty and gifted at brightening any conversation. Pam had a wonderful sense of humor and was easy to share a laugh with. Her kindness radiated. Pam has been described as the glue or rock of the family.

She is survived by; son, Jay W. Fields, and wife, Jennifer, of Portland, Oregon; daughter, Tara Ford, and husband, Ryan, of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, Tonya Campbell, and husband, Matt, of Cedar Park, Texas; grandchildren: Courtney, Kaeli, Kyra, Cade, Riley, Whitney and Abram; great grandchild, Mila Kay; sisters, Sue Hopkins and husband, Jerry, of Newton, Janet Giesbrecht and husband, Wayne, of Little Rock, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews who were all close to her. She was preceded in death by her daughter, baby Toni Leanne; father, Ora Troyer; mother, Elsie Troyer (Koehn); brother, Terry Troyer; sister, Donna Logue; and sister-in-law, Mary Troyer (Wright).

A graveside memorial service and interment will be held at Restlawn Gardens of Memory Cemetery, US-50, Friday, August 15, 2025, at 10am, Newton, Kansas.
