Myron D. Laflin 87 died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at his Newton residence. He was born July 27, 1927 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Ralph E. and Lenora M. (Girard) Laflin. On March 17, 1950 he married Irene Willard in Little Rock, Arkansas and she survives of the home. Myron is a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Newton. He proudly served his country in the United States Airforce during WW II. He is retired as a Lab Inspector for Underwriters Laboratories. Myron is a member of the South Central Kansas Mustang Club. He enjoyed attending car shows and showing his 1972 mustang. Family was very important to Myron and he looked forward to spending time with his loving family and many friends.
Myron is survived by his wife Irene of the home; daughters Sharon and her husband Bill Hanley of Newton, KS, Ruby Summus of San Diego, CA and Diane Burroughs. He is also survived by one brother James Laflin of Santa Maria, CA, and 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Lois Cowling and one brother Phil Laflin.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2014 at First Church of the Nazarene in Newton, KS with Pastor Charles West presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday evening at Petersen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Newton, KS.
