Michelle M. Entz Pfautz, 65, passed away on August 19, 2026, surrounded by her family. Michelle was born on October 1, 1960, in Newton, Kansas, to Gene W. Entz and Donna J. (Sabo) Entz.
Growing up, Michelle attended Newton Schools. Through the years Michelle worked at Hesston EMS, Hesston Parks, and USD 460 as a custodian up until the time of her passing. The kind of dedication that Michelle had for the school and the kids will not be forgotten.
Michelle enjoyed camping, fishing, and taking their dogs Ryder and Nell to Interstate Park in Hesston. Michelle and Kent enjoyed fishing together to donate fish for the annual Hesston Area Seniors (HAS) Annual Fish Fry. If Michelle wasn’t camping and fishing, you could find her at home tending to her flower and vegetable garden. Family was important to Michelle, and she loved the times when everyone was able to get together. She was also active in the VFW auxiliary.
She married Kent Pfautz on February 22, 1986, in Newton, KS. Together they had three children.
She is survived by her husband, Kent, of the home; daughters Jessie (Rick) Alvarez of Moundridge, KS; Jennifer (Jordan) Tozier of Hesston, KS; and Colt (Liz) Pfautz of Hesston, KS; 9 grandchildren, Dylan Prouty, Noah Prouty, Josh Prouty, Adler Tozier, Madison Tozier, Paxton Pfautz, Bristol Pfautz, Kaiden Pfautz, and Rylan Pfautz; great-granddaughter Leeann Prouty; and sister Jacquie Oswald of Newton.
Michelle is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Donna Entz, and her niece, Melissa Morris.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25th, from 5-9pm at Petersen Family Funeral Home. The service will be Wednesday, August 26th, at 10:00am at Zion Lutheran Church, 225 S Poplar St, Newton, KS. Burial will take place at Stoehr Cemetery, Elmdale, KS, following service.
Memorial donations may be made out to City of Hesston, to be used for improvements at Interstate Park in Hesston, put in memo line Michelle Pfautz Memorial and left in care of Petersen Family Funeral Home.
