Matthew “Matty” Williams 42, died December 25, 2022 in Sedgwick, Kansas. He was born May 4, 1980, in Wichita, Kansas. His mother and father Susan (Purdy) and John A. Chambers survive.
Matthew was known for being outgoing, helpful, and very polite. He was forever saying “My Pleasure” when someone thanked him for his help. He could often be found riding around on the 4-wheeler and loved driving around in his buggy. He loved to mow. He also enjoyed swimming. One of his greatest joys was his family and loved spending time with his sisters, brother, and parents.
He is survived by his Parents; Sister Jennifer (Chip) Stapleton and their sons Chase, Caleb, Carter, Cole and daughter Jensen; Sister, Stephanie Williams; Brother, Nicholas Williams; Cousins Misty Walter and Corey Carrell; Grandma Peggy Purdy, Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Tim Seivley; Uncles Jeff Purdy and Mike Purdy and Aunt Jeanne and Larry Carrell.
Matthew is preceded in death by his Grandfather David Purdy and Great Grandmother Lucille Ransom.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday December 29, 2022 at Petersen Funeral Home with The Reverend Gary Blaine presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 9 a.m., to 10:00 a.m. Graveside committal service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday at the Fairview Cemetery in Rural Wakita, Oklahoma. He will be laid to rest next to his grandfather.
Memorial may be made to American Cancer Society and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
