Mary Wallace

Mary E. (Bette) Wallace, 96, died Friday, May 16, 2025 at Paramount Community Living and Rehab in Newton. She was born on June 6, 1928 in Cherokee, Oklahoma to William J. and Mabel (Nichols) Evans. On February 13, 1949, she married Joseph (Joe) B. Wallace Jr. in Norman, Oklahoma.

Bette was a retired sales person for the Sears store in Newton. She enjoyed painting and quilting during her retirement years.

She is survived by her sons Joe and wife Barb, Doug and wife Kay, and Dave and wife Janet, seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Bette is preceded in death by her husband, Joe, her parents, two brothers, and four sisters.

Private family interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.

Memorials may be left with Paramount Community Living and Rehab in care of Petersen Funeral Home, or a charity of your choice.
