Mary "Mammie" Mosqueda

August 10, 1943 — March 5, 2024

Newton

Mary "Mammie" Mosqueda, 80yrs old, passed away at her residence in Newton, Ks. on March 5, 2024. She was a beautiful soul who loved everyone, as well as being very compassionate and kind.
Mary was born in Topeka, Ks on August 10, 1943 to Ascension and Bonita (Aguilar) Juarez.
Mary was united in marriage on August 19, 1960 to Armando "Pete" Mosqueda in Newton, Ks. From this union came four children. Their only son, Jr. (Karen) Mosqueda, along with three daughters, Gloria Embry, Monica (Brad) Brungardt, and Crystal (Mark) Shook.
During Mary's life she wore many hats. Her two favorites were being a beloved babysitter to many and a homemaker. Spending time with Pete listening to Mexican music while relaxing on their front porch was precious time spent. Mary loved to garden and plant flowers around her home. Being very particular in how and where things were planted. Playing bingo, thrift shopping, going to a casino or just an evening out to have ice cream were among the many activities Mary enjoyed with her family. Taking time to watch The Bold & the Beautiful and General Hospital while snuggling with her dog, Lulu whom she slept with every night was how Mary relaxed and took time for herself.

Most importantly, was Mary's family. They were her whole world and all that truly mattered to her.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Pete, her parents, four brothers and seven sisters. As well as two grandsons, Aiden and Jon, two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Lucy, one son-in-law, Mark Embry.

Survivors include all four of her children, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and her sister Catalina Ortiz.

Memorial Contributions to the American Liver Foundation can be left in care of Petersen's Funeral Home.
