In Loving Memory of Maribeth Sue Dirksen: January 15, 1945 – September 23, 2026

Maribeth Sue Dirksen, 81, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026. Born on January 15, 1945, in Newton, Kansas, Maribeth spent much of her life in the Newton area and most recently resided in Hesston, Kansas.

Maribeth was the daughter of Ralph and Malva Iserhardt. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and soon-to-be great-grandmother. She had a charismatic personality, a wonderful sense of humor, and a generous spirit. Those who knew Maribeth will remember the personality and laughter she brought into their lives.

Maribeth devoted much of her life to her family as a homemaker and also worked as a secretary. She enjoyed shopping and decorating her home and had a particular love for clothing and fashion. She also dearly loved her dogs, Mollie, Precious, and Boo, who brought her great companionship and happiness.

Maribeth was married first to Gerhard Neufeld and later to Willard Dirksen, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her four sons, Peter, Gregory, Martin, and Jeremy; and her grandchildren, Janet Neufeld and Michael Neufeld. She is also survived by her brothers, Kermit and Steven, and was preceded in death by her sister, Fran.

Maribeth was especially looking forward to welcoming her first great-grandchild, adding another generation to the family she loved.

Her family will remember her for her humor, generosity, distinctive personality, and the many memories they shared with her throughout her 81 years.

In accordance with Maribeth’s wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held at this time.

Her memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren to come, and all those whose lives she touched.
