Newton
After a long illness Mara Locke, age 86, passed away in Halstead, Kansas. Mara was born in July 27, 1937 in Pope, Illinois and grew up in Iola Kansas.
She later moved to Newton, Kansas in 2005. After her illness was diagnosed she moved to Halstead Health and Rehab in Halstead Kansas.
Mara was a Certified Medical Assistant in nursing facilities and had completed college courses in Iola, Kansas.
She is survived by her daughters Debby (Phillip) Wertz, Sharon (Del) Hadden, Dianna (Danny) Prock. 5 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren also survive Mara.
Mara is preceded in death by her parents Owen and Lottie Wild, daughter Janice; son Sean; granddaughters Courtney and Gina.
A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., November 4, 2023 at the Senior Center in Iola, Kansas.
Memorial contributions can be made out to American Cancer Society and Good Shephard Hospice and left in care of Petersen Family Funeral Home.
