Lois Jean Swanson

In loving memory of Lois J. (Angle) Swanson 1/16/1931- 5/18/2026.

Lois was born in Newton, Kansas on January 16, 1931 to David and Mabel Angle and was the 8th of 10 children.

She attended Lincoln Grade School and graduated from Newton High School.

Lois married Donald Swanson on September 17, 1950 at First Baptist Church in Newton. They lived, loved, played, worked and worshipped in Newton until they retired to Sun City West, Arizona in 1990. They attended Bible Baptist Church and Newton Bible Church in Newton, Kansas and Grace Bible Church in Sun City after moving to Arizona.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Kay) Swanson and daughter, Diana (Swanson) Barnes and her granddaughters Carey Goza (Gabe), Julie Scichowski (Michael), and Katlyn Wilson (Dustin); and great grandchildren Kendall and Brielle Goza, Lucy Scichowski, and Aiden, Carson, Alexis and Gunnar Wilson.

She was predeceased by her husband, Don; her parents, David and Mable Angle; and siblings, Evelyn Budde, Thelma Martin, Irma Schwartz, Norma Ormandy, Helen Aldrich, Paul Angle, Dale Angle and Gene Angle.

She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Angle.

A memorial service will be held at Petersen Funeral Home, 215 Main Street in Newton, Kansas on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 10:30 am.
