Linda Lou Flores

Linda Lou Flores (Friesen), age 77, Born on July 17, 1947 in Newton, KS, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025. Loved and adored by many, Linda will always be remembered for her kind, loving, and nurturing nature that seemed to come so naturally to her. Though her passing brings sadness, those who know and love her can find comfort in the countless good memories that were created with her. Linda lived a wonderful life, and that life will never be forgotten.

Linda is survived by her husband Ines Flores, daughter Fawn Flores, sons Carlos Flores and Robert Flores, brother Ken Friesen, daughter in law Amanda Flores, as well as her grandchildren Josslynn Flores, Nic Rivera, Alex Rivera, Kelly Rivera, Bradley Richert, and her two precious great grandchildren, Poppy and Raphael, and two granddogs, Finn and Axel. Many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends whom she Cherished so dearly are also included. Linda is preceded in death by her parents Art and Rosella Friesen, in-law Francisco and Magdalena Flores, sister Rose Marie Crawford, and son in law Garrett Flores.

Linda graduated Newton High School, and she worked at many local Newton restaurants. Her love of people made working in customer service easy for her. Some restaurants include Westwend, Red Fox, and most recently The Breadbasket, where she worked for 15 years. Even after her retirement, she returned there regularly to visit with former co-workers and customers. She was a collector of Fenton Art Glass, and had a love for frogs. Appropriate, as her husband’s nickname is “Sapo”, which translates to “frog”. Linda was also an amazing cook and baker.

Please join the family for visitation on Sunday June 22, 2025 from 1pm-5pm, and for Linda’s memorial service on Monday June 23, 2025 at 10:00am. Visitation and service will be at Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main Street, Newton, KS, 67114. Graveside committal service will be at Restlawn Gardens of Memory Gardens of Newton, Ks.
