Lena Clark

Lena was born October 20, 1924 in Hulbert, OK, to Fritz and Clara Schubert. She married Harold Clark who preceded her in death in 1996. Lena passed from this life Sunday, April 2, 2023 in Newton, Kansas at the age of 98 years, 5 months and 13days.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton, Kansas.

She is survived by her sons Dwight (Hazel) Anderson, Bristow, OK, Ken (Linda) Clark, Augusta, KS and Carman (Cindi) Clark, Newton, KS. 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sisters, Loye Cook, Lela Lively, Mary Ann Coombes and son Cary Clark.

Lena went to work for the Ammunition Plant in Pryor, OK during WWII.  She also worked for BF Goodrich in Miami, OK.  She moved to Kansas in early 1950’s and began working for Montgomery Ward.  She worked in both Newton and Wichita stores until their closings at which time she retired. After retirement she babysit her grandchildren and was the family historian. She was able to remember vast amounts of family information, including shoe size.
