It is with bittersweet hearts, the family of Joyce A Parkhurst announce she left the bonds of Earth to worship at the feet of Jesus.
Joyce passed away in her home on Wednesday, 31 July, 2024, after a lingering illness. She was 93. Joyce enjoyed gardening, decorating, and entertaining. Her creative mind, diligent spirit, and adept hands produced beautiful pieces. She also enjoyed researching family history and produced a tremendously detailed genealogy which spanned centuries.
Joyce is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Max. She also leaves behind four children: Rex Gruenwald of North Carolina, Karin Linenberger of Wichita, Ginger (Steve) McClure of Tennessee, and Amy (Kevin) Baker of Derby. She is survived by six grandchildren: James Anderson, Gianna Scott, Alan Gruenwald, Ethan McClure, Lydia Williams, and Sarah Hart; she had five great-grandchildren. Her parents and three siblings preceded her in death.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 on Wednesday, 7 August, at the Countryside Christian Church in Wichita. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00. Pastor Stevan McClure will officiate. Interment will be a private service.
