Jeanie Senn

Jeanie Marie Senn, 83, passed away July 19, 2026. She was born on February 28, 1943 in Newton, Kansas to Albert Gronau and Agnes Endres Gronau.

Jeanie grew up on the family farm south of Newton and attended St. Mary’s school and Newton High School. As a youth, she was a member of the Lucky 13 4-H Club, and later served as a sewing project and club leader. This tradition was carried out with her sons and grandchildren all being members. Family was ever important to Jeanie, especially holiday gatherings, with Christmas being her favorite.

She married Jim Senn in March of 1965 in Newton, Kansas.

Jeanie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; her sisters, Susan Gronau and Rita Gronau, and her brothers Robert Gronau and James Gronau.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Stephanie) Senn, Troy (Diane) Senn, Shane (Jessica) Senn all of Newton; grandchildren Elizabeth (Colt) Pfautz, Brittany Senn, McKenzie (Clayton) Spencer, Annika Senn, Jakob Senn, Lilian Senn and Leah Senn, and 6 great-grandchildren.

The service will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 10:30 AM August 3rd, with the rosary at 10:00 AM preceding the service. A graveside service will follow at St. Mary’s cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to AbilityPoint (abilitypoint.org)
