Jason Wayne Sutcliffe, 44 years young, died Monday, September 18, 2023 as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on March 10, 1979 in El Dorado Springs, MO to Milo Andy Sutcliffe and Sylvia (West) Doyle.
Jason was Vice President of Operations at Empower Physical Therapy in Newton for many years. He loved his job in physical therapy. He mastered & taught martial arts, including Kung Fu and Tai Chi. He was a consummate entertainer at various venues and events in the area including Sand Creek Summer Days in Newton as well as a highly cherished member of the Phlox fire flow community, performing monthly at the Final Friday shows at Old Town in Wichita. He was a very outgoing, positive, talented and adventurous person. He also loved “jeeping” and performing with fire and props. Everyone that met him loved him. He was just that kind of guy.
He is survived by his mother Sylvia Doyle; his sons Max and Leo Sutcliffe; brothers: Milo Jeremy (Jennifer); Josh Sutcliffe (Cynthia); and Larrydan and Matthew Doyle. He is also survived by his partner Miranda Davidson. Three nieces and two nephews.
Jason is preceded in death by his father and one brother Justin Sutcliffe.
A gathering with friends will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton with a slideshow video. There will be an opportunity to speak and share about Jason at 7:00 p.m.
