Life Sketch for Janice Lou Robertson
Janice L. Robertson, 76, passed away on Friday, May 11th at her home in Newton, Kansas.
Janice was born on July 1, 1941 in Newton, Kansas to Earl and Goldie (Todd) Henry. She attended and graduated from Newton schools.
She married Jerry Abney on August 28, 1960. He passed away in 2005. She later married Homer Dale Robertson in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 14, 1986.
Janice retired from the Santa Fe Railroad where she worked as an Administrative Secretary.
Janice was a strong willed, caring, kind and loving person. She was an animal lover and would have filled her house with dogs if that would have been possible. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and making and collecting dolls. She loved her family and was extremely proud of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Jeffrey and Cinda Abney and Natalie and Craig Shanklin; grandchildren: Ty Abney, Cammi and Matt Schuyler, Cody and Montana Palmer; and her two little dogs: Sophie and Zoe.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Goldie Henry; and her two spouses: Jerry Abney and Dale Robertson.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. A public visitation will be held on May 15th, at Petersen Funeral Home, between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. to greet friends.
