J Elaine Ralstin, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and community servant, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, in Newton, Kansas. She was born on September 28, 1937, in Fredonia, Kansas, to George and Mary (Hendrickson) Eisele. Elaine's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her profound commitment to nursing and community service.
Elaine graduated from Fredonia High School before going on to earn her nursing degree at Wichita State University. Spending her career as a Registered Nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, she touched the lives of countless individuals, embodying the essence of care throughout her professional journey.
Her devotion to the well-being of others extended beyond her career; Elaine volunteered extensively within her community. She contributed her time and energy to Safehope, the Sedgwick EMS service, and served as a Girl Scout Leader. As a member of the Sedgwick Christian Church, she volunteered at the church's food bank, reflecting her deep compassion for those in need.
Family was the cornerstone of Elaine's life. She cherished the moments spent with her children and grandchildren, taking immense joy in their achievements and milestones. Elaine's memory will forever be intertwined with the loving gestures of her husband, John, as she fondly recalled watching him do yardwork and plant flowers that brought her great happiness. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time watching TV
Elaine is survived by her beloved children: son John C. (Tina) Ralstin, daughter Patricia L (Dan) McLinn, and daughter Georgette R (Richard Lowe) Ralstin. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who were a source of joy and pride in her life.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Eisele, her husband John B. Ralstin, her brothers George Jr. and Norman Eisele, her sister Betty Ann Eisele, and her daughter LaRell Ann Toburen.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Petersen Family Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas. A graveside service will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick, Kansas, on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM. with Chaplain John Hull officiating
Elaine Ralstin’s legacy of kindness, care, and dedication to family and community will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
