Irene P. Schmidt

Irene P. Schmidt 98, died Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton, Kansas.  She was born on June 15, 1920 in Saskatchewan, Canada to Jacob W. and Marie (Schroeder) Goertz.  On December 11, 1971 she married Eldon M. Schmidt at Newton, Kansas and he preceded her in death.

Irene was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Newton, Kansas and retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

She is survived by several nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.  There will be a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Thursday March 21^st in Menno Hall at Kidron Bethel
