Harry P Ensz

Harry Paul Ensz, 97, born August 29, 1928 to Gustav and Anna Epp Ensz, went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2025.

He is preceded in death his wife Joan Rose Stucky Ensz, his infant sister and two brothers Reinhold, and Charles Ensz.

He is survived by his sister Lois (Ensz) Dupuis, brother Edgar and wife Virginia Ensz, and his children, sons, Steven and wife Marcia Ensz, Bryan and wife Nancy Ensz, son Kevin and wife Kerry Ensz, and his daughter Lori (Ensz) and husband Eric Shelly.

Surviving grandchildren and great grandchildren are; granddaughter Kelsey (John) Friedman, great granddaughters Reagan and Parker and granddaughter, Kristin (Stephen) Martin, great grandchildren Emma, Lily and Jack, son, grandson Andrew and wife Erin Ensz, great grandchildren Owen and Nathan Ensz, grandson Daniel Ensz, grandsons Matthew and Tyler Shelly, and granddaughter Haley Ensz.

Harry grew up on a farm nine miles west of Beatrice Nebraska with his three brothers Reinhold, Charles and Edgar and sister Lois.

After graduating from Beatrice High School in 1945, and with $50 in his pocket, he eventually moved to Newton, Kansas to live with his cousin. In the early 1950’s he would meet his wife to be, Joan Stucky. They would soon marry on June 22, 1952 and settle in Newton having three sons and one daughter.

Harry, Joan and the family worshiped at the First Mennonite Church in Newton where he also served as a church trustee.

The majority of his working years were spent at Builders Concrete and Supply.

Harry was a loving husband, father and patriarch to the family. He will be missed by all.

Services will be held graveside at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2025 at the West Zion Mennonite Cemetery, Moundridge, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
