George William Mock, a beloved father, husband, ordained minister, and cherished member of the community passed away on February 13, 2024, at Kansas Christian Home in Newton, Kansas. He was born on March 22, 1929, in West Allis, Wisconsin. Throughout his life, George touched the hearts of many with his kind spirit and dedication to serving others.

George's journey in life was marked by his commitment to faith and service. After graduating from Concordia Theological Seminary in 1955, he embarked on a fulfilling career that saw him serve Lutheran parishes in New Mexico and South Dakota. His passion for guiding others in their spiritual journeys led him to a 25-year career as a Protestant Chaplain at Oak Forest Hospital in Illinois. His proudest accomplishment was being an ordained minister in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.

Those who knew George will fondly remember his great sense of humor and love for telling dad jokes. His warm personality and quick wit endeared him to all who had the pleasure of meeting him. In his free time, George found joy in volunteering for prison ministry and veteran homes well into his late 80s. He also spent many happy years wintering in Arizona and summering at their lake cottage in Weyauwega, Wisconsin, where he delighted in gardening.

George's family meant everything to him. He is survived by his loving wife, Delores Ann Schroeder Mock. He will be deeply missed by his children: George (Betty) Mock, Melanie (Matt) Hickcox, Catherine (Tom) Atwater, Garth Mock, Sara (Trey) Bare, and his former daughter-in-law, Aimee Mock; along with a host of grandchildren Peggy (Jake) Larson, Kelly (Justin) Manders, Jenny Mock, Drew (Ahilya) Hickcox, Adam Hickcox, Jocelyn Hickcox, Amy (Winter) Hodge, Eric Atwater, Oliva Atwater, Emily (Jacob) Caprizzi, Heydon Mock, Mason Mock, Sawyer Mock, Keria Mock, Max Bare, Ami Bare and relatives and friends.
