Elmer L. Christiansan

Elmer L. Christiansan 108, died Thursday, January 20, 2022 at NMC Health in Newton.  He was born August 10, 1913 in St. Joseph, MO to Elmer and Dorothea (St. John) Christianson.

He married Pearl M. Weigant at Wathena, Kansas and she preceded him death.

Elmer attended the Congregational Church in Sedgwick and worked at the Alfalfa Mill prior to his retirement.

In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Sedgwick area.

Elmer is survived by one son Elmer (Beverly) Christiansan Jr; 2 daughters: LaDonna (Ted) Barnes and Shirley (Jerry) Koerner. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Peggy Randall and 2 great grandsons

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2022 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Private family interment will be at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and left with Petersen Funeral Home.
