Ellen Marguerite Lehman Klover, age 88, died April 14, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital with her family by her side.  Ellen Klover was born August 12, 1933 in Halstead, Kansas, the daughter of Floyd and Ada McFarlane Lehman.  She graduated from Halstead High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology and Education from Kansas State University.  She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta social sorority and Alpha Delta Theta med tech organization.

Ellen was certified as a Medical Technologist from the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.  She taught 5th grade in Alta Vista, Kansas, worked in retail sales and worked as a medical technologist at Student Health at K-State, Manhattan, Kansas and at Creighton Pathology Associates in Omaha, Nebraska.

She married Bernard Klover on August 11, 1956 at the Presbyterian Church in Halstead, Kansas and he survives of the home. They shared over 65 years of marriage.  She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Newton, Kansas.

She enjoyed bird watching, square dancing, tole painting, playing the piano, researching family genealogy, in addition to women’s bible study, active seniors, and sewing club at the church.  She was a member of the German American Society, Red Hat Society, and on the Board of the Halstead Historical Society.  She loved being a mother and grandmother – her kids and grandson were her true enjoyment.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Bernie; daughter Jana Atchison; son John (Ginger) and one grandson, Tyler Atchison.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m.at the Zion Lutheran Church, in Newton, Kansas on Wednesday, April 20 with The Reverend Kurt Letcher officiating.  Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery, Marysville, Kansas at 3:00 p.m. April 20, 2022.  Memorials may be made to Halstead Historical Society and Zion Lutheran Church.
