Eleanor K. Schirer, 76, died December 29, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born August 10, 1947 in Newton, Kansas to Clarence and Gladys Faye (Hackney) Schirer.

Eleanor was a graduate of Newton High School (Class of 1965) and graduated from Fort Hays State University (Class of 1972) with a Bachelor of Science in Business. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton, Kansas and was a retired bookkeeper.

Eleanor is survived by her brother Robert V. Schirer and 112 nieces and nephews, including grands, greats and great greats. She was close to many, remembering their birthdays and special occasions.

She provided a vital connection for all.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Marshall, Keith and Ivan Schirer; sisters Esther Smith and Faye Nicholas.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in Newton with Pastor Kim Andrews presiding. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to service time Friday at the Church.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home
