David Lee Groat, 65, died on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Newton Medical Center in Newton.
David was born on April 1, 1954 in Walton, New York to Fenton and Virginia (Cook) Groat.
David was a truck driver and when he wasn’t on the road he enjoyed drinking his whiskey and listening to old country music with friends.
He is survived by his children: Tina “Shorty” Sample and Tammy Groat; grandchild: Charles David Groat; siblings: Fenton Groat, Richard Groat, Jim Groat and Rosa Kay; and his aunt Fran Cook who he held close to his heart like his mother; and significant other and longtime friend Carol Decker.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Fenton and Virginia Groat.
