Daniel J. “Joe” Navrat 72 died Wednesday July 1, 2026, at St. Teresa Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born February 7, 1954, in Marion, Kansas to Daniel A. and Marie H. (Zubrod) Navrat. On August 4, 1972, he married Lisa R. Holmes at Pilson, Kansas and she survives of the home.
A longtime member of the Walton Community Joe spent his career at the Walton Co-op where he worked various positions during his working years. He was also a volunteer on the Walton Fire Department. Joe and his wife also owned and operated L & J Mini's. He enjoyed caring for the horses and did his own farrier work. He and Lisa worked with and trained many horses thought the years earning several National Grand Championships. They looked forward to attending horse shows around the country where they made many friends through the years.
Family was important to Joe, and he looked forward to spending time with his wife, son and grandsons. He especially enjoyed deer hunting and building demolition derby cars to showcase in local fairs.
He is survived by his wife Lisa of the home; son Jason and his wife Celide; his siblings: Donna Cherry, Ronald Navrat, Patricia Navrat and Machele Ratzloff. He is also survived by two grandsons: Cody and Hunter Navrat.
Joe’s parents precede him death.
A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Walton Cemetery with The Rev. Andrew Bergkamp officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Walton Fire Department and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
