Bradley Eugene Smith, passed peacefully from his life here on earth December 27, 2023.
Brad, the oldest child of William E. and Marilyn D. Smith, was born May 5, 1947, in Newton, Kansas. His early years were spent in Potwin and Whitewater, KS areas. \Brad was a loving husband and father.
Brad was a great communicator and a natural born leader. He loved to visit and tell stories with his friends and family. In a group, his presence was always felt. He will be missed by many. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of Santa Fe Railroad, and worked as an Engineer.
He and wife Janet were married on July 28, 2002. They were fortunate enough to travel in later years, and took numerous trips together, usually to warm climates where they could exercise their love for the game of golf.
He is survived by his loving wife Janet, sister Janice Sipes of Manhattan and brother Doug Smith of Newton. His children: daughters, Jodi Sanderson of Valley Center, Jaci Ribble of Newton, and son Brent Smith of Wichita, his two step-sons, Tyson House and Colby House, eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Brad is proceeded in death by his parents and grandchild. Brad was loved very much by his family and will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be at 5pm to 8pm, Wednesday January 3rd, 2023 at Petersen Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6pm to 7:30pm.
A service celebrating Brad’s life will be held on Thursday, January 4th at 10am at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton, KS. Brad will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, KS.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
