Betty Schefler

Betty J. Sheffler, 84, died on Dec. 3, 2013, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.She was born on Jan. 17, 1929, in Halstead to William and Vivian (Carter) Sheffler.Betty was retired from the grocery business where she worked in the produce department. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.She is survived by two brothers, Robert L. Sheffler and wife, Linda of Wichita, Melvin E. Sheffler of Newton; and three sisters, Lee Ann Newell of Newton, Kay Lincoln of Sun City, Ariz., and Judith Cullen of Newton.She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers and sisters, Bill Sheffler, Keith Sheffler, Ruby Church, Vivian Smith, Phyliss Botterwick, Erileen Sigals, Ieleen Spangler and Marcelis Sheffler.Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at Petersen Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home.
