Anita Claire Parish, of Newton, Kansas, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, at the age of 94.
Anita lived a life defined by compassion, service, and faith. She dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse and later as a Director of Nurses, where her leadership and kindness left a lasting impact on both patients and colleagues.
Beyond her career, Anita was a devoted pastor’s wife whose life reflected her deep commitment to her faith and community. She offered steady support, warmth, and encouragement to many, becoming a source of comfort and strength to those around her.
Anita is survived by her son, Robert Parish (wife, Gail Parish); her son-in-law Jim Johnson; her daughter, Janet Befus (husband, Tim Befus); and her dear friend, Donata Girard. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oliver Parish; and her daughter, Susan Johnson.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and the love she shared so freely with family and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on May 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Community Church in Newton, Kansas.
Anita found comfort in the scripture passage Lamentations 3:22-23, which reads:
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
