Andrew Lynn White, 75, died peacefully on February 25, 2022, at Paramount Greenhouse, Newton Kansas. Andrew White was born on August 1st, 1946 to Frank Paul White and Wanda Lee (Warren) White.
Andrew was born in Winfield, Kansas and attended school there. After he graduated, Andy enlisted in the United States Navy. He served in the Vietnam Conflict from November 12, 1964 to November 11, 1970. During that service, Andy won three medals; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Navy Unit Commendation Medal. During his service, Andrew was married to Diana Lee (Totten), and they had two daughters together Dana (White) West and Rhonda White. Andrew and Diana divorced in 1990.
After returning from serving in the Navy, Andrew became a truck driver for Pepsi Co. Andy worked at Pepsi Co. and moved on from the company in 1996. He worked as a custodian at the Armijo High School, and also worked at Telpro Technologies Inc. During this time, Andrew met Maria Gellidon and the two were married May 11, 2000.
Andrew and Maria were married for a few years, until illness took her in 2004. While Andrew was working at Telpro Technologies Inc., he met Connie Maxine (Banks) Wilson. Through a mutual friend, the two were married in 2007. Andrew retired from Telpro Technologies Inc. He drove a transportation bus in Napa for Vinego. It was during this time that her received an award from the mayor for his bravery, when he saved a life during on of his trips.
Andy enjoyed at great many things in his life, such as hunting, fishing, and bowling. When he was asked about his favorite color, it was always blue which when worn would make his blue eyes look brighter. He spent many nights watching his favorite actor John Wayne and would watch and rewatch any movie starring him. When Andy was not watching movies, working or spending time with his family, he and Connie loved visiting the casinos. Whenever someone heard Andrew mention his baby, they knew he was talking about his beloved 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix, which was limited edition with only 500 made.
Those who knew Andy knew he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. His daughter Dana from his first marriage gave him two granddaughters, Darcy (West) Rice, Dominique West. His second daughter, Rhonda White gave him three grandchildren: Nathan Standard, Kayla Standard, and Matthew Standard. Darci (West) gave him four great grandchildren, Ayanna, Isabella, Ryan and Vincent West-Magill.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, his first and second wives, and siblings, Jo, Gladys, Bea, George and Frank.
A memorial service will be held at Newton Christian Church, March 11, 2022 at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made out in care of the family.
