Albert Junior Haviland, 92, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home in the early morning hours of June 29, 2026.
Albert was born on March 8, 1934 in Saint Paul, Kansas, to Albert Floyd and Georgie (Cooper) Haviland.
He retired as a supervisor at Beech Aircraft working over 50 years. He has a love old cars and enjoyed restoring and showing them. He was especially fond of his 1967 Charger and 1968 mustang among many others. He enjoyed coffee time with friends at Bill Renee's auto shop in Wichita. He has a deep personal faith in the Lord and close connection to his family who he loved to spend time with. In his retirement he enjoyed watching westerns on TV and had a special connection to his son Gary's dog Rufus who he cared for after his death.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Claude Leroy Haviland; sons, Michael Ray Haviland and Gary Wayne Haviland; and great-granddaughter, Kinzie Grace Whalen.
He is survived by one son, David Lynn Haviland and wife Victoria; two daughters, Pamela D. Whalen and husband Michael, and Annette R. Alleé and husband Ronald; two sisters, Violet Flippen and Roselyn Thomason; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service for Albert will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2026 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel Newton. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Private family interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery Newton. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society and may be left in the care of Petersen Funeral Home.
