Ada M. Koehn 92, died Monday, May 21, 2018 at Newton Medical Center.  She was born July 15, 1925 in McPherson County, Kansas to David and Dena (Nightengale) Schmidt.  On September 28, 1947 she married Ervy D. Koehn and he preceded her in death on February 17, 1924. 


Ada moved from the Galva community to Burns in 1954 and was a member of the Eden Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Rural Burns, Kansas.  She worked alongside her husband as a farm wife and homemaker and loved to take care of her family who she greatly adored. 


She is survived by her Children Lyle and Finette Koehn, Jerald and Regina Koehn,  and Linda and Bruce Koehn of all Burns, Kansas; son in law Sammy and Linda Byrnes of Gentry, AR; brother’s Chester Schmidt of Galva, KS, Kermit Schmidt and Orman Schmidt both of McPherson, KS, Howard Schmidt of Galva, KS and Norman Schmidt of Moundridge, KS. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended relation.


Ada is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ronney and daughter in law Karen Koehn Byrnes and two grandsons Arlen and Shalan, brothers Alan and Buford Schmidt and sisters Sadie Ratzlaff, Esther Ratzlaff, Madeline Jantz and Rosalind Schmidt


Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday May 25, 2018 at the Eden Mennonite Church in Burns, Kansas.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Eden Mennonite Cemetery, Rural Burns, Kansas


Memorials are suggested to Eden Christian School in care of Petersen Funeral Home .
